Meter Marker Reference
This is the last remaining of the reference points for pedestrians to use to get used to how long a meter was...It dates back to 1700's and evolved from the realization that feet were different sizes, so it was not a good standard of measurement..The metric system was implemented and to get people used to the idea of the meter, they installed these on the sides of buildings...
The Autolib' Cars of Paris
So besides having 44,000 bicycles in their bike share stations across the city, Paris has started a program where you sign up to receive a member card, find a street-side ELECTRIC car stations, check it out, and drop it off at another station anywhere in the city.
"Living" Walls
The sides of these buildings where basically gardens...the plants roots grow directly into the soil chambers that form the wall. The plants are irrigated by rain water that runs down the building.
Institute of Arab Arts Windows/Walls
These were awesome...The walls are made of these...They adjust to the amount of light hitting them and open/close accordingly. By doing this, it save energy by cutting down or allowing more natural light to provide light and regulate the building temperature.

This statue is used to measure the water level of the River Seine... Paris Resire (or Paris Breathes) is a program by the city where they shut down certain streets to cars..In other words, no cars, no exhaust...
